Salvation

WHAT IS SALVATION?

Sin is the one thing that separates us from God and disrupts our fellowship with God.

Know that we all sin because we were born in sin.  Psalms 51:5 “Behold, I was shaped in iniquity; and in sin in did my mother conceive me.”

It is because of Adam’s sin that we were separated from God and fell out of fellowship with Him.  “Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned.”  Romans 5:12

Know that not one of us is perfect and sinless. Romans 3:23 reads “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” The Word of God goes on in Romans 3:10 to read that “There is none righteous, not even one.”

We must confess Jesus and receive his free gift of salvation so that we won’t be eternally cast into hell and totally separated from God.  Luke 13:28 reads “There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out.

HOW DO YOU GET SALVATION?

Romans 5:8  tell us that God commended His love to us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Know that God loves us even when we sin, His Son Jesus gave his life for us by dying on the cross at Calvary that we might have a right to eternal life in Heaven.

Romans 10:9 says that if thou shall confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in thine heart that God has raised him from the dead, thou shall be saved.

Don’t be deceived.  God is a keeper of His Word so he must punish us for our sin. 2 Peter 3:9 NIV tells us “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness.  Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

Confess your sin before God, Believe that Jesus died and rose again for your sin.  Ask God to forgive you for your sin and to come into your heart and save you.  It’s that easy.
